Early Life and High School
Van Soest is from Murrieta, California, and graduated from Murrieta Mesa High School in 2024. He played varsity basketball and volleyball there, and MaxPreps lists his height at 6’1″.
He told San Diego Voyager he got TikTok as a high school freshman, after convincing his mom to let him. For a couple of years he posted random videos for fun with friends.
How He Went Viral at Point Loma
Van Soest moved to San Diego for college and studied media communication at Point Loma Nazarene University. His roommate showed him a dorm door-knocking video, and he started making his own in Hendricks Hall.
His “human pyramid” video helped his views take off, the campus paper Lomabeat reported. He also became known as “The Weatherman” for a skit that opened with a good morning San Diego greeting.
He was named an Instagram creator of the month in April, and he described his content as whimsical, unpredictable and revolutionary.
Beast Games and Going Full-Time
Van Soest told Laughing Place he applied to the first season of Beast Games and was selected. Meeting other contestants who were also creators encouraged him to take his own videos more seriously.
He began posting daily when he went to college, and he later left school to create full-time. He had been doing it for about six months when he spoke to the outlet.

Created in LA at Disney
On Sept. 17 and 18, 2026, Van Soest attended Created in LA, a Disney event hosted with creator Jon Youshaei. It included a creator film screening at the El Capitan Theatre and a day on the Walt Disney Studios lot.
It was his first creator event. He said he’d love to be in a writing room someday, and he floated ideas such as making original content around a film. He described those as ideas, not announced projects.
What Do Entertainers Typically Earn?
Since there’s no confirmed income for Van Soest, here is how U.S. government data describes the closest job category. The Bureau of Labor Statistics doesn’t track social media creators separately, so this is a rough guide at best.
Typical pay for this job, not his confirmed pay:
| Measure | Amount | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Median hourly wage, entertainers and performers (all other), 2024 | $20.99 | O*NET OnLine, citing U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data |
Creator income comes from brand deals, platform payouts and other work, and it varies enormously. A single hourly figure doesn’t capture any of that, so treat it as a floor for the category, not an estimate of what he earns.
